/* The header's links, on every page that has the header: the landing page and its position screen
(index.html), the docs and the two legal pages (docs.css), and the 404. Carl, 10 October 2026, of the docs:
"the nav links are put in a white box. This should be how it is on all of the pages", and the links in the
middle, "equal spacing on the left and the right". Later the same day: "remove the white box around the nav
links in all pages ... it should be free floating links".

So there is no box any more: no outline, no fill, no padding round the links, and no paper block on the
current one (the docs' current tab is marked in docs.css by its colour and a hairline under it). Each page's own
rule gives its links their look, and they are the same numbers on every page: 15px, 26px apart (waitlist.css
.links, 404.html .links, docs.css .tabs; test/site-nav.test.mjs). What this sheet still does is the centring: the
links sit in the middle column of a 1fr | auto | 1fr row, so they are on the page's centre whatever the brand
and the actions beside them measure (the docs' had sat against the brand, 192px left of centre in a 1336px
   window).

It does not move. For a short while on 10 October the box collapsed from its left edge when a link to another
page was followed and expanded on the next one (site-nav.js held the click back while it did); Carl then asked
for the whole page to fade instead, "rather than minimizing the central nav's links", which is a rule in the
head of every page (test/page-fade.test.mjs). This sheet has no entrance or exit, and there is no script.

From 901px only, the golden split's breakpoint: under it each page keeps its own row (the landing page's links
between its brand and Sign in, the docs' tabs beside the brand). Unlike site-header.css this sheet is under
/shared/, which _headers serves revalidating, so a change here needs no ?v= bump. */
